Dole charters space from Maersk for Texas service as own ship goes into dry dock

Dole will charter space onboard Maersk's Expreso service while its ship, the Vliet Trader, is in dry dock, according to the American Shipper website.

 The world's largest producer of fresh fruit and vegetables will reportedly book around 100 slots a week for bananas and other tropical fruit. 

 

Such an arrangement with a shipping line would allow Dole to continue to move produce between Freeport, TX, and Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.
